On Saturday, spokesperson of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Punya Salila Srivastava, clarified a statement. She said that there will be a prohibition for the stores.
For instance, liquor shops, hair salons, and shops in market / market complexes and shopping malls. During the lockdown, those stores should be closed. In its order, the Ministry allowed certain shops to open following by a clarification.
“Render services through hair salons and barbershops. Our order refers to shops that deal with the selling of products. Barbershops and beauty salons should not open. There is no order to open liquor shops too, “Srivastava said.
According to the new orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), she stated a report. No order is open for any kind of restaurant. Spas also do not have permission to start their operations.
Srivastava also explained that state governments can not dilute central government restrictions. But, they can certainly make them more stringent, as is appropriate.
“Shops in areas designated by respective States / UTs to be containment zones would not be permitted to operate in rural or urban areas,” the ministry added.
The Ministry has also explained that no selling of liquor and other products continues due to the Covid-19. The prohibition aims to prevent the worse case due to the Covid-19. And also, it is a management national directives.
The order further states, “It is explained by the ministry that sales by e-commerce firms will continue only for essential products.” Last month, the Central Government enforced the lockdown to curb Covid-19 spread.
