The Ministry of Micro, Small Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, has launched a web portal ‘CHAMPIONS’, a tech-driven control room-cum-management information system, as part of its effort to help enterprises.
CHAMPIONS stand for designing and implementing new processes to maximize production and national power in a harmonious way. The portal’s goal is to assist MSMEs in India as national and global champions in marching them into the big league.
As the name suggests, official information shows that the smaller units builds the interface to render it. Then, the job descriptions are to solve their complaints, promote, help, assist and hand-holding. Furthermore, MSME Ministry is a true one-stop solution.
ICT-Based System Will Help in the Current Crisis
While taking over the charge on April 30th, 2020, AK Sharma, Secretary, MSME, Government of India, indicated that an ICT-based system aims to help MSMEs in the current crisis. In addition, it aims to handle them in becoming national and international champions.
A systematic program or CHAMPIONS released on 9 May 2020.
It is a control room-cum-MIS, filled with tech. The framework is powered by Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Machine Learning. In addition, ICT resources including mobile, internet and video conferencing will support its development.
It is also fully integrated on real-time basis with the central grievance platform of India CPGRAMS. And also, the other web-based platforms of MSME Ministry itself.
With the aid of the National Informatics Center (NIC), the entire ICT architecture building is at no cost at home. Likewise, in a record period, there is a physical infrastructure of the dumping rooms at the ministry.
As a part of structure, in a Hub and Spoke Model, it built a network of control rooms. The Center is in the Secretary’s office in New Delhi, MSME. The spokes will be in various ministry offices and institutions in the states.
As of now, there were 66 state-level control rooms as part of the project. Furthermore, for each room has a well-organized plan, trained officers, and a well-performed training.
