Investors today have earned almost Rs 3 lakh crore as Sensex opened more than 1,000 points higher on Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus pacakage announced by the PM Modi to help the coronavirus-hit economy. Hence, Rs 20 lakh crore economic will increase gradually.
Relative to the previous session’s market cap of Rs 122.69 lakh crore, market capitalization on BSE today increased to Rs 125.44 lakh crore. That contributed to a Rs 2.75 lakh crore increase in the market cap.
Although Sensex opened 1110 points at 32.841 higher, Nifty gained 388 points at 9.584. Of 30 Sensex options, 26 have been Green trading. On Nifty, 44 stocks were trading in green.
However, since the beginning of this year, Sensex has been down 22 per cent or 9072 points. Similarly, in the same time as coronavirus crisis roiled global markets since February this year, Nifty lost 22.25 percent or 2707 points.
Meanwhile, the top Sensex gainers were ICICI Bank (6.75%), Larsen & Toubro (6.16%), Axis Bank (5.50%), and Hero MotoCorp (5.09%). The top gainers were on Nice, ICICI Bank (6.69%), Larsen & Toubro (6.43%), and M&M (5.84%).
127 stocks hit their upper circuit against 83 impacting their lower circuit on BSE. Total 16 stocks reached 52 week highs against 17 reaching their 452 week low.
Mid-cap and small-cap indices traded on BSE at 11,534 and 10,718 more than 1 per cent. Banking and capital goods stocks led to gains with BSE bankex rising to 22.519 at 947 level. It will impact to the real estate either.
The BSE capital goods index also gained at 11,573 445 points. Auto index climbed to 13,287, with 400 points.
Barclays, who claimed to be leading Indian companies’ $7.5 billion bond tables since the beginning of the year, lobbied for a relaxation in the External Commercial Borrowing Guidelines to represent the ground situation, claiming that such a move might help drive Indian entities’ issuances forward in its year tenure.
