Local people staged a protest against the rules of the current coronavirus in India. They confinement rules of the Union Territory administration in Ladakh’s Leh district on Thursday.
And also, they push to charge students and pilgrims. They had returned between ₹2,500 and ₹3,000 for non-administrative quarantine facilities as the COVID-19 cases in South Asia.
Meanwhile, in Leh’s Chuchot, a buffer zone, hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets. And then, they began a rally against the laws to fight the region of COVID-19 pandemic.
Saira Bano, chairperson of the Block Development Council requested action against police officers. And also, for those who trigger the thrashed protesters against women.
“We have already told [administration] that we are prepared to monitor our children and pilgrims in accordance with the guidelines of the WHO. In Leh too, laws are enforced will apply in other control areas,” Ms. Bano said.
Quarantine First before Seeing Their Relatives
According to the order of Leh District Magistrate, anyone coming from outside Ladakh and having relatives in containment areas “must under no circumstances be permitted to reach their villages”. Hence, they’ll spend 14 days outside the exclusion zone with friends and family to avoid the coronavirus cases in India.
Sayeeda Ladakhi, Chuchot councilor for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Leh (LAHDC-L), in a letter of secretary to Commissioner Secretary for Health, Rigzin Samphel, gave his response. He said that it demanded the U.T. Management revoke the directive.
She said the tariff for non-administrative quarantine centers fixed by the DM between ₹2500 and ₹3000 had created discontent among the people.
“The lockout has already forced students, pilgrims and patients to suffer over the last two months. In addition, they expect to live in highly tariff-paying hotels, “she said.
Another local, Tundup Nubu Cheetha, asked why LAHDC-L had failed to arrange a free-cost quarantine facility for people like hand sanitizers and the public health.
A magistrate of the district, Leh, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, was not available for comment.
