Indians queued up for alcohol
Police in India were swinging batons to unravel the masses who are lined up at the alcohol store. The queue occurred after the government began to loosen lockdown rules to combat the spread of Covid-19 on 5/5/2020.
The government decided that alcohol stores could be opened first since alcohol sales being their main income.
Moreover, the government applied some discounts for alcohol purchases. They applied a “corona special price” of 70 percent to increase regional revenue.
The authorities have drawn a circle of chalk as a sign that people obey social restrictions when waiting in line. However, the effort failed because the masses had crowded since morning.
To make people obedient, police in Delhi and other big cities use lathi, long sticks made of bamboo.
