BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued Executive Order (EO) 43 extending the town’s modified quarantine of the general community (MGCQ) from June 16 to June 30, 2020.
Leonardia, who signed the EO Monday night, told about MGCQ. The National Inter-Agency Task Force-EID Chairman Francisco Duque III made a televised announcement shortly.
It happened before midnight on June 15. Hence, Bacolod City will be one of the areas that will remain under MGCQ from June 16 until June 30.
He said Bacolod’s City Government has always been faithful to the national policy regarding coronavirus disease (Covid-19) public health emergency. It always goes with acting consistently with instructions. In addition, the ways of observing public order, particularly in safeguarding its constituents’ health and welfare.
“The continuity of the MGCQ requires that Bacolodnons adopt some lifestyle changes necessary because the said deadly disease is still a scourge for the whole world and for Bacolodnons,” he added.
Executive Order was from May 31 to June 15
Leonardia released EO 38 on May 31, putting the City of Bacolod under MGCQ from May 31 through June 15.
Leonardia said that under the MGCQ, the Bacolodnons would need to take appropriate health measures while striving to gradually transition into the “new standard” and bringing some normalcy back into the culture.
Section 2 of the EO states the amendment to Section 25 of EO 38, Series 2020. It concerns intrazonal travel between the Western Visayas and Bacolod City units of Iloilo City/local government.
Section 25 of EO 38 notes that travel between Western Visayas’ Iloilo City/LGUs and Bacolod City is unhindered. And also, any clause to the contrary stands for the reference. Furthermore, an amendment will be the rule accordingly.
Section 3 of the EO also states that “the continued enforceability of EO 38 shall continue to be in full force and effect for the period of the extended MGCQ until June 30 except for Section 25, which is amended in Section 2 above, all other provisions of EO 38.”
