The corona virus is still not under control in Indonesia. The proof is that Indonesia now holds the title as the country with the highest active cases in Asia, which was previously held by India.
Based on Worldometer data, Wednesday (3/2/2021), at 00.04 GMT, Indonesia has 172,576 active cases while India has 161,865 cases. Active cases are the number of people who are still tested positive for Covid-19.
Of the total cases, Indonesia ranks fourth as the country with the most infected cases in Asia and 19th in the global ranking. The total positive cases in Indonesia reached 1.09 million positive cases of Covid-19. Above Indonesia, there are India with 10.77 million cases, Turkey with 2.57 million cases, and Iran with 143 million cases.
Positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia have continued to increase since January 2021. The number of increasing new cases every day can exceed 10,000, even reaching more than 14 thousand new cases.
To suppress the high increase in positive cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia, the government has implemented the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) since early January 2021.
