Nowadays China’s scientist and tech companies are working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications to create a more efficient healthcare service. Besides, they also work to help China’s elderly care revolves.
China Population problem
Currently, China’s population is graying. The number of people over 60s has reached 250 million out of a total population of 1.4 billion in 2018.
The number shows that the country needs to address how a growing proportion of elderly people to get a welfare system.

In 2019, the country has tried a mechanism. Every two working people paying contributions support one non-working retiree. However, by 2050, analysts expect the dependency ratio to drop to one contributor supporting one retiree, according to a report from South China Morning Post.
Scientist and tech companies works
By the end of 2018, the use of AI has grown up to $2.1 billion. Yet, many reports expect the number to grow up to $36.1 billion by 2025.
The Lujiazui Elderly Community Center is the first institute in the district to use smart mattresses with sensors to help monitor the health of patients. The technology later can share the data with medical staffs and family members. Besides, The machine can also locate patients by GPS in case they are lost.
Now, the elderly center also has an electronic rehabilitation machine. The shanghai-based startup, Fourier Intelligence, created the machine.

The machine helps elders do various things, ranging from therapies to moving around. For instance, it has a machine that looks a bit like an electronic piano with a TV screen attached instead of a music score.
The machine has a moving handle to help the patient to do a daily exercise routine to recover mobility after fracturing arms. Although we still need the therapist, the machine frees up the human from repetitive, time-consuming work.
