Upon receiving numerous criticisms on its ‘seeming ignorance’ amid the coronavirus outbreak, Google finally makes serious moves.
Google’s parent company, Alphabet, has been urging the countries all over the globe, specifically in North America, Europe, Africa, and Middle East, to work from home. Accordingly, this is so that further transmissions do not happen.
“Out of an abundance of caution, and for the protection of Alphabet and the broader community, we now recommend the you work from home if your role allows,” Chris Rackow, Google’s VP of global security, stated in an email.
In battling against the newly-announced pandemic COVID-19, many companies already urge their workers in many cities to work from home. However, Google is the first one to ask its companies throughout the continents to do so.
The company also makes another attempt to prevent a huge crowd from gathering and possibly transmit the virus. Recently, Google announced that it will cancel its biggest event, the annual developer conference Google I/O.

Google Finally Joins Other Companies Fighting against Coronavirus Exploitation
The tech giant Google finally joins the fray to fight coronavirus outbreak exploitation. Among the fights is the banning of overpriced face mask ads.
Google has been widely criticized by many parties for still allowing such ads to roam on its platform. However, the company now takes things seriously as they begin to exhaustively monitor such exploitation and take actions if necessary.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to temporarily ban all medical face mask ads. We’re actively monitoring the situation and will continue to take action as needed to protect users,” a Google spokesperson said.
Prior to Google, some major leviathans such as Amazon and Facebook are already enforcing the urgent policies. That said, in Google’s case, the company might also ban other products in the future if any product exploit the growing fear.
