With the rising trends of social distancing and telecommuting campaigns, Microsoft is aggressively selling its collaboration tools, Microsoft Teams.
Thanks to the indubitably precise timing, the sales become a huge success. Microsoft recently reported that the daily active users (DAU) significantly increased from 20M at the end of 2019 to 44M now.
With regards to its exponential increase in DAU, Microsoft Teams is gaining the upper hand in the tight competition against its archrival Slack. Accordingly, the two tools have been competing against each other, but in a seemingly fun tense.
Basically, Microsoft Teams is a collaboration tools that supports messenger and email, audio and video conference, as well as real-time document collaboration. The luxury that Teams provides is regarding to integration with other Microsoft’s solutions.
Despite everything, Microsoft thinks that its current success won’t be the end of it. Additionally, it will become a stepping stone to achieve something bigger through the addition to features and services.

In an overlapping time with the rapid elevation of its DAU, Microsoft announced new features for Teams. There is no exact confirmation for the launch date so far. The only available information says that it will come later this year.

Another feature is the raise-hand button which will also be an additional feature to audio and video conference. The feature will permit users to ask for permission to interrupt or ask questions during busy meetings. This will remove the direct, inappropriate explanation cut and interruption.
Last but not least, Teams will also be available for offline use later in the future. This will facilitate users who have to work in a place with no or weak internet connectivity, allowing them to read messages.
