Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is available on the Epic Games Store free of charge, which means you can now claim a free copy which is yours to keep. The offer is available on May 28 until 11AM ET so you have one week to take advantage of it.
The rumors were true: following GTA 5’s runaway popularity on the Epic Games Store, with Civilization 6, the latest entry in the legendary 4X series, Epic has followed up the giveaways.
On their shop page you can snatch the game over.
Then you are expanding your civilization. In addition, researching new technology until you reach the modern age, crushing your opponents as the ages continue.
The deal comes a week after the store was down for more than eight hours due to the popularity of its last free game giveaway: Grand Theft Auto V.
That deal’s popularity shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise since it’s one of the best-selling paid games of all time (Minecraft realms is number one, before you ask), but it’s still stunning that there are so many people out there who still have to play it on a PC.
Civilization VI is the latest release of the long-running, turn-based game strategy series dating from 1991. In 2016 the sixth installment was released but it still receives new material.
Earlier this month, Polygon noted that as part of a new $39.99 season pass. A Developer Firaxis Games announced it would add eight new civilizations to the game.
