Mac Otakara, a Japanese IT blog, said on the 23rd that the 4G among the iPhone 12 series is expected to be released in October. While the 5G model rumor to be in November, citing sources from Apple’s suppliers in China.
Previously, there were many predictions that Apple would introduce new products in September and release them sequentially depending on the model from October. But this is the first time that there were predictions that there would be 4G models and 5G models.
Apple, as the rumors say release four iPhone models of three sizes this year: 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch. Those are iPhone 12 (5.4 inches), iPhone 12 Max (6.1 inches), iPhone 12 Pro (6.1 inches), and iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7 inches). Some say that iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will also be in 4G.
The iPhone 12 inevitable delay
Apple has generally held a ‘Special Event’ to unveil new iPhones in the second week of September. However, they most likely be delaying the release of new iPhone products due to the COVID19. Analysts predicted that they would delay it one to two months from a normal schedule. Due to supply disruptions and delays in production of prototypes due to COVID19.
Reportedly, some of the iPhone 12 series started mass-producing related parts in May. But some of the models started the production in mid-June. As a result, the iPhone 12 public event is likely to be at early October. About a month later than usual. And the official launch would likely to take place sequentially from October to November.
In particular, Apple might delay the 5G release compared to 4G models due to delays in the establishment of 5G networks in the U.S.
The iPhone 12 and 12 Max adopt an OLED display made by China’s BOE on the exterior of aluminum materials and equipped with dual cameras. The iPhone 12 Pro series, which is a high-end model, uses stainless steel. And has Samsung Electronics’ OLED display and supports high injection rate of 120 Hz. Experts believe that the top-level iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a LiDAR sensor. It can measure the depth of the camera with a triple camera at the back.
