Priced at $549, more expensive than iPhones and iPads
Apple’s new set of AirPods might cost you more than your iPhones. Reuters reported the new AirPods Max will be sold at $549 apiece. With the extravagant price, Apple promises that AirPods Max’s battery can withstand up to 20 hours. Apple also guarantees higher audio quality with its over-ear headphones design that seals around the ear. AirPods Max’s main competitor will be Bose’s Noise Cancelling 700 units, priced at $340 with holiday discounts. Shipping for Airpods Max will start from next Tuesday.

With how much AirPods Max costs, is it actually worth the price? Apple described that the new AirPods contains nine-microphones. Furthermore, two of its H1 chips are audio processors custom-designed by Apple. The microphone acts as a wind noise reducer and noise cancellation, which helps a lot in phone calls. It also automatically adjusts audio levels in real-time.
Apple’s accessories unit sales for the last quarter saved the company. While iPhones revenue tumbled 20.7%, accessories sales noted a significant rise. Reuters noted the accessories sales for fiscal 2020 increased by 16% at $53.8 billion. Additionally, iPhone sales slightly dropped by 3% at $137.8 billion.
