Warung Pintar seeks to make revolution upon Indonesia economy
As said at its’ site, Warung Pintar committed to make an economy revolution for middle to lower class society. Its co-founder found warung or small kiosks in the country as the perfect medium for their plan. It’s commonly available in almost everywhere around the country and the target society visit it often.
The strategy is to install technologies in the kiosks. Warung Pintar install free WiFi, flat-screen television, and electric sockets for customers to charge their phones. It also equips the kiosk owners with POS technology from Moka to manage their kiosks better.
Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics and blockchain technologies are the base of the POS technology. The IoT is to improve accuracy of retail data input. While big data analytics to understand customers’ preferences. And blockchain to keep everything transparent and maintain the owners faith to Warung Pintar.
Kiosk owners are also free from concern over logistic. As the company had secured a partnership with other startups such as logistic startup Kudo. Not only their usual goods, with Kudo customers can also buy tickets or refill their phone balance.
Agung Bezharie, Harya Putra, and Sofian Hadiwijaya founded the company at 2017. Within two years, it had raised a total of $35.5 m from three funding round. It makes the company one of the most funded startup in the country. The three of them also make it to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia 2019 for the money they raised.
Almost all of the kiosk owner they helped admitted an increase of income up to 100%. With that, more and more kiosks over the country are signing up to the company.
