Meghan Markle invests in Clevr Brands, a producer of instant oat milk. Investments in healthy food sources are aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs who build communities in their businesses.
“I am proud to invest in the commitment of Hannah Mendoza, CEO of Clevr Brands, which offers products that I personally like and have a holistic approach to health,” she said, as reported by CNN Business, Monday (14/12).
It is known, Mendoza built a healthy food startup business with Roger Coppola as COO of Clevr Brands in 2019.
The company sells instant oat milk in powder form in four flavors for US $ 28 for 14 ready-to-eat bags.
Healthy and Environmentally Friendly Drink Products
Citing the company’s website, this drink is claimed to be healthy because it uses organic ingredients.
In addition, all packaging is 100 percent recyclable, so it doesn’t contribute to waste.
“Our company prioritizes working with material suppliers managed by home industries with a more transparent supply chain,” writes Clevr Brands on its website.
However, Markle and Clevr Brands are not willing to reveal the investment value of Prince Harry’s wife.
“His passion for what we create is clear and I can’t imagine a more harmonious partnership. I am very excited for the journey ahead,” said Mendoza.
Oat milk is said to be the winner in the food and beverage industry. Sales of plant-based dairy alternatives have surged in recent years and increased rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last July, a group of investors, including Oprah Winfrey and Natalie Portman, invested US $ 200 million in a similar company under the Oatly brand.
Other food and beverage producers are also paying attention to this trend. The proof, companies of the caliber of Nestle and Starbucks increase sales of their oat milk by introducing non-dairy cream.
