In a series of his tweets, Saylor encouraged the billionaire to switch the United States dollar (US) to Bitcoin.
“Other companies in the S&P 500 will follow you and in time, US $ 100 billion will grow to US $ 1 trillion,” Saylor said as quoted by Bloomberg, Monday (21/12/2020).
The exchange came after Elon Musk posted a photo showing he was interested in Bitcoin, which has more than tripled in value this year.
“Is it possible a transaction of that size?” asked Elon Musk in response to Saylor.
As the largest cryptocurrency skyrocketed above $23,000 for the first time this week. The mania pushed the Bitwise 10 Crypto Index Fund price by 650% above its holdings value.
Tesla, which will start trading as a member of the S&P 500 Index on Monday. It has seen an eightfold jump this year. That profit boosted Elon Musk’s wealth to a net worth of US $ 167 billion making him the second richest person in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
