Numerals of South Korean companies gear up for Consumer Electronics Show (2021). The show will be held online starting next week, from 11th to 14th of January. Being the second country with the largest number of exhibitors, South Korea brings electronics titans and startups to the show.
Samsung and LG brings “new normal” to CES 2021
Samsung and LG will again lead South Korea in CES 2021. Prior to the show, both companies are holding virtual press conferences on Monday. The South Korea electronic titans will reveal their visions for future technologies in the pandemic era. According to The Korea Herald, both companies will showcase new innovations for the stay-at-home lifestyle in CES 2021.
Sebastian Seung, the leader of Samsung‘s research hub will be presenting the company’s idea entitled “Better Normal for All”. Under the theme, Samsung suggests the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) as the solutions to a better life amidst the pandemic.
On the other hand, LG appoints its Chief Technology Officer Park Il-Pyung to present the company’s latest inventions. The “Life is ON — Make yourself @ Home” similarly proposes new technologies to provide an easier and comfortable lifestyle in the pandemic.
AmorePacific to become one of K-beauty corps’ representatives
AmorePacific is reportedly joining in the exhibition once again. As one of the representatives for K-beauty companies, AmorePacific is bringing its”Lip Factory by Color Tailor”. Utilizing the deep-learning algorithm, AmorePacific’s new technology analyzes users’ facial feature and generate over 2,000 recommended shades of lip makeup colour.
Debuts in CES 2021: GS Caltex Corp, Mando Corp, and startups
South Korea is sending roughly 340 to CES 2021. Amongst them, GS Caltex Corp, South Korea’s major refiner is making its CES debut. Taking the future concept of gas stations as the idea, GS Caltex Corp will also talk about services related to drones and electric vehicle.
Mando Corp is also taking part in the CES for the first time. The local auto parts manufacturer is looking forward to showcasing its steer-by-wire free-mounted type advanced steering system. The system connects the chassis and steering wheel through an electric signal as an alternative to mechanical connections.
Not only big-name companies, South Korea is also encouraging startups to participate in CES 2021. Seoul Digital Foundation will promote 15 promising startups through a virtual exhibition booth. Likewise, Samsung is also bringing 21 startups from its incubation programs to exhibit their ideas and products. Participating in the global-scale exhibition could open the door for the startups to land investments and deals worldwide.
