Smart Communications is bringing in more Korean celebrities into Philippine. Just yesterday, the company revealed BTS as the new ambassador. Global superstars BTS will further promote Smart Communications “Live Smarter, Live with Purpose” 2021 campaign.
Korean celebs dominate the Philippine market: BTS after Hyun Bin and Son Yejin
Smart Communications has been giving a lot of surprises to Filipinos. Previously, the telecom company appointed the hottest actor and actress, Hyun Bin and Son Yejin. as their endorsers. The public adored both actors and actresses through the Korean drama, “Crash Landing on You”. This time, Smart Communications is taking the Grammy-nominated BTS as their new ambassador.
In the meantime, Smart gives very little information on how BTS will promote the company. However, CNN noted that Smart company promises that fans will be able to see the group appear on ads within the first quarter of 2021.

Quoted from CNN, Alfredo S. Panilio, the president and CEO of smart, said in Monday, “Aside from their remarkable talent, BTS emerged as the biggest band in the world because of their meaningful and uplifting music that brings hope and encouragement to fans especially in the bleakest of times”.
Panilio further continued that, “it is therefore a big honor to welcome BTS to the Smart family so we may inspire more Filipinos to find purpose in everything they do and ultimately live Smarter for a Better World.”
Additionally, Smart’s SVP and consumer wireless business head, Jane Basas said “just like BTS who are able to inspire millions of young people all over the world through their music, Smart Prepaid aims to bring about amazing experiences to the Filipino youth through technology to make life easy, fast, and simple.” Thus, choosing BTS as the ambassador can empower youth to “immerse in their interests and succeed with their pursuits,” ABS-CBN quotes.
