Youtube: expansions and new developments for 2021
Youtube is eager to help its creators grow. The company is looking for ways to help creators diversify their revenue streams. Creators will further be able to gain money through Youtube Partner Program (YPP). There will be ten different ways to make money from YPP. Furthermore, Youtube is adding a new applause tipping feature for livestreams soon for fans to support their favourite content creator.
US citizens might be able to access Youtube Shorts soon. Youtube has been testing a mobile video creation feature, named Shorts, in India for some time. Not losing to TikTok, Youtube came up with similar features for its platform. Youtube tested the water in one of the countries where TikTok boomed, India. According to CNBC’s report from last month, Youtube noted 3.5 billion views a day from its first launch in September. With the positive response from India, Youtube will be taking the service to the US in 2021. Other countries, however, might need to wait a bit more before they can access Shorts.
Other updates coming from Youtube are minor expansions to give customers a better experience. Youtube Music will allow playlists open for other people to discover, and there will be more updates on video quality and accessibility, both for Youtube TV and Youtube VR, Additionally, Youtube Kids will also have more customization and control options for parents. Thus, parents can limit which individual channels and videos that their kids can watch.
