It turns out that South Korea is not only home for the world biggest smartphone maker company. It also has a giant IT company that sells most camera module mobile phone. CammSys went through a big leap this year.
The company that located in Incheon just reported its total sale at the first quarter of 2019. It shared that the sales count up to 178.8 Billion Won ($15 M). The number is 61.8% higher than the same period previous year by KRW 106.7 B($9 M).
It also reported an increase on operating profit. In the first quarter of 2018, it recorded KRW 3.1 billion. Now, it climbed up to KRW 3.1 billion, a 141.1% climb. The net profit also grow up by 24.3% to KRW 4.3 billion.
Samsung’s Role in CammSys Growth
The increase achieved due to increasing adoption of multi-camera modules such as dual and triple cameras. The sale portion of ultra-high-resolution camera modules with 16+ million pixels also increased.
Samsung, the world’s biggest smartphone maker also contributes to CammSys growth. It is one of the company’s biggest clients. Samsung’s robust sale of Samsung Galaxy S10 earlier this year. The new flagship phone has both front camera module and a leading 16 million pixel ultra wide angle camera module.
“This achievement is the result of continuing new supply orders by strengthening quality competitiveness through steady R & D investment. We will diversify sales and diversify sales through future CEVO- I will secure it,” Said Park Young Tae, CEO of CammSys.
CammSys does not sell camera modules for mobile phones only. It is also a semiconductor equipment producer. It products include auto trim systems, conventional molds, auto integration systems, and auto marking systems.
Founded in 1993, the company expand to other range of business. It operates some rental businesses across South Korea. It also has some subsidiary companies located in several countries in Asia such as Vietnam, Hongkong and China.
