Tinder and Bumble are already on the floor on the Nasdaq
Basically, these two apps are managed by two different companies. Tinder is managed by Match Group, Inc. and Bumble is managed by Bumble, Inc.
Both have something in common, namely that both have become public companies on the Nasdaq.
Conducted an initial public offering (IPO) in 2015, Match Group is now trading on the Nasdaq with the ticker code MTCH. Meanwhile, Bumble will conduct an IPO in 2021 with the ticker code BMBL.
As is well known, IPOs for technology companies such as Match and Bumble are common in the United States, while this is still rare in Indonesia. The business model implemented by Match and Bumble is growing as many users find it difficult to find a mate due to the pandemic.
As an illustration, Bumble Inc is the parent company of Badoo and Bumble, both of which are online dating apps with millions of users around the world.
It is relatively new, the company was founded by Whitney Herd in 2014. The number of employees of this company reaches 600 people in Austin, Barcelona, London and Moscow.
Bumble and Tinder Stock Prices
The Forbes website notes that Bumble’s IPO, which will be held in 2021, has made Whitney Wolfe Herd one of the young women to become a billionaire. Released at a price of US $ 43 per share, Bumble’s share price then climbed to US $ 75 per share.
Meanwhile, MTCH shares which were previously released at a price of US $ 12 per share, are now valued at US $ 164 per share. From business scale, MTCH is bigger than BMBL where Match Group employs 1,800 employees in 20 offices around the world.
Currently, MTCH’s market capitalization is US $ 45 billion, while BMBL is US $ 8.6 billion. MTCH has another dating application called OkCupid which can also be used by users in Indonesia. Just like BMBL, MTCH is now led by a female CEO, Shar Dubey.
