USA Today reported that Volkswagen announced the official statement of the name change on its official website on March 29, but it has been removed. It appears that a publishing error has occurred because the official statement dated April 29.
A USA Today reporter saw the announcement and saved it before it was deleted.
In Volkswagen’s official statement, ‘More than just a name change,’. Voltswagen ‘is a public declaration of the company’s future investment in e-mobility’.
“We may replace the ‘K’ with the ‘T’, but we do not change the brand’s commitment. Which is to make best-in-class vehicles for drivers and everyone,” Volkswagen of America CEO Scott Keogh said in the official statement.
According to the official statement, electric cars will have the logo ‘Voltswagen’. While standard cars with fuel engines will use ‘VW’.
