This Sunday, Amazon India came up with an announcement of its “Mentor Connect” programme launching. The programme aims to accelerate local startups growth as well as emerging brand owners. Additionally, businesses that participate in the programme will be a part of the Amazon Launchpad initiative.
Amazon India’s mentoring programme explained
The “Mentor Connect” programme held by Amazon India is a big project that involves startups and emerging brands. Industry veterans and Amazon leaders are also participating in the programme as well.
Additionally, Several venture capital firms will be supporting the programme by becoming mentors. Some of them are, quoted from Mint, Fireside Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, Elevation Capital, and Tomorrow Capital.
Accordingly, the programme will also have knowledge sharing sessions, networking events and one-by-one mentorship sessions.
Quoted from Mint, Amazon India put out a statement explaining, “Startups and emerging brands enrolled in the Amazon Launchpad programme can access guidance from these mentors through various ways. This includes one-to-one mentorship with chosen mentors over a three-month period, ongoing networking opportunities with a wider pool of industry experts, or knowledge sharing sessions between these experts and other Launchpad brands”.
Expectations and goals
Similarly, Amazon India Director, Pranav Bhasin expresses the expectation to create a support system for startups. The programme will provide the space for startups to learn from the existing leaders’ experience. Thus, startups could practice what they’ve learned to scale their businesses and avoid blind spots in the future.
Through befitting mentoring, Bhasin hopes startups participating in the programme could unlock their potential and unlock infinite possibilities for a Digital India.
More businesses to join the programme
The statement from Amazon further added, “The Amazon Mentor Connect programme is not limited to startups and emerging brand owners enrolled in the Amazon Launchpad programme, but will also be extended to the winners of the Amazon Smbhav Entrepreneurship challenge in the upcoming Amazon Smbhav summit”.
Thus, the impending winners of the Amazon Smbhav summit will be the first cohort of startups to join the Amazon Mentor Connect programme. Amazon will be holding the second summit from April 15 to 18, 2021.
