Quoted from CNN, Tuesday (20/4/2021), Harris County Police Chief Mark Herman revealed from the results of the investigation that no one was in the driver’s seat when the accident occurred.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to this immediately, who tweeted if the autopilot feature in the car was not used.
Elon said that no data log was found regarding the use of this feature. He also did not provide details regarding the accident.
Tesla’s shares Fell 3.4%

From the Tesla website, it is stated that this autopilot feature requires active driver supervision and does not allow the vehicle to drive freely.
Even Elon Musk said that the autopilot feature is safer than the driver. “Tesla with Autopilot has a lower accident rate than normal vehicles,” added Musk.
He said that based on data from motorists, this autopilot only occurred once for every 4.19 million miles in the first quarter of this year. He compared it with the national highway traffic safety administration data that accidents every 484,000 miles for human-driven cars.
