Instagram is generally a place to exist by sharing photos with other users. Not only there, social media is also very potential if it is used to sell and make money.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced many new features that Instagram is working on to help its users or creators make more money from their content.
Head of Facebook’s Image and Video Division, Adam Mosseri, said that many Instagram creators have been paid to post sponsored content. It is Instagram’s job to be more involved in helping certain brands find new content creators.
“We have to be able to help them find content creators who are uniquely aligned with the work they are trying to do and vice versa,” Mosseri said in an Instagram Live broadcast with Zuckerberg, quoted by CNBC, Wednesday (28/4/2021).
What are the new features like?
Zuckerberg announced that one of the new features of Instagram is helping creators match content containing the brands they are promoting to the audience they want to reach.
The social media giant boss explained this new feature comes as Facebook adapts to recent changes in Apple’s iOS ecosystem that will likely make it harder for social media companies to target ads to iPhone and iPad users.
With this new feature, Facebook itself wants to retain its merchants and sellers. So, Facebook can more effectively deliver personalized ads to users and demonstrate the effectiveness of those ads to advertisers.
However, the Facebook executives did not explain when these features will be launched.
Another feature that has been released is that users can open their own shop on their Instagram and Facebook profiles. The feature was released last year, called Facebook Shops and Instagram Shops. It was also an attempt to bring more merchants on Facebook’s services.
That feature allows businesses to sell directly to users. Some of the top content creators, like Kim Kardashian, already have shops on their Instagram profiles.
“This feature has been very important in the past year. Many physical stores have had to close during the lockdown, but online remains open. It can be a more personal and comfortable experience,” said Zuckerberg.
