HONEST Company (hereinafter referred to as Honest), a well-known household goods company co-founded by Hollywood actor Jessica Alba, made its successful debut in the Nasdaq market on the 5th (local time).
Honest shares, which began trading on the Nasdaq market on the same day, closed at $23.00, up 44 percent from its offering price of $16.
Honest’s market capitalization reached $2.68 billion. The company has raised $413 million through the IPO. The value of the company’s shares held by Jessica Alba amounts to $130 million, Bloomberg reported.
In a recent interview, Jessica Alba expressed strong affection for the company, saying, “I often say Honest is my fourth child.”
Honest is an eco-friendly product company co-founded by Alba in 2012 with eco-friendly activist Christopher Gabigan and Korean-American Brian Lee. The company mainly sells baby products such as diapers. But now it also deals with cosmetics and cleaning products.
Los Angeles-based Honestposted $310 million in sales last year and a loss of $14.5 million.
Alba is a top Hollywood star who gained popularity with sexy and cute images in films such as “Fantastic 4” and “Good Luck Chuck”.
