What time do you start working in the office in the morning?
Maybe some of you work at 8 in the morning, but others at 9 in the morning. Morning routines in the office usually start with sipping coffee, chatting with colleagues, reading the latest news, checking e-mail, then start working. Then, have you been a productive workers?
According to Inc, being more productive at work isn’t rocket science, but it does require being more deliberate about how you manage your time.
Let’s check out 6 things you must do to be productive working in the morning.
Do not forget for having breakfast
Don’t wait until you arrive at the office for breakfast. Try breakfast at home or before arriving at the office.
Why so?
Sitting at a computer with food and coffee makes you prefer to surf the internet and social media rather than doing important tasks. You can’t really work when there’s a spoon in your hand.
Make to do list
Charles Duhigg, author of the book titled Smarter Better Faster: The Secrets of Being Productive in Life and Business said, most people write a list of things to do, sorted by easy work. Thus, they will be comfortable shifting from one task to another. However, this kind of work system only helps confidence, not productivity. Besides, you can organize your list with the long-term goals at the top to be more productive.
Do the most thoughtful task
Rather than checking e-mail or social media, it’s better to do the task that you think about. Ideally, do the task that interests you the most. Often this is what weighs you most.
Doing the thing that makes you most stressful will relieve the pressure and make you relax throughout the day.
Turn off notifications
When you check social media, your brain releases dopamine and stimulates satisfaction, even if the notification doesn’t contain anything interesting. The trick to consciously avoiding this kind of distraction is to turn off all notifications on your cellphone and e-mail.
Do not drink coffee
Caffeine can be a substance that is very useful for keeping energy primed for important things. However, when the effect disappears, you can feel tired.
Better to use the energy from coffee when you need it instead of automatically sipping it in the morning.
Listening to music
Listening to music with headphones while working can keep you far from distraction. However, you should not choose popular music with the sounds and lyrics you like. Instead, choose music tlike the sound of birds chirping, the sound of rain, the rush of water, or other soothing sounds.
