Grab Adds GrabBajay Feature in Indonesia

The giant startup is plating its feet deeper in the previously Go-jek-dominated market.

This year is a very busy year for Grab. With one year left of its plan on dominating Indonesian market, it made various breakthrough to get ahead of Go-Jek. The newest one is GrabBajay.

What is a GrabBajay?

Just like its name, GrabBajay offers bajays for customers. Bajay is similar to India’s Tuk Tuk. The transportation is famous as a cheaper alternative than taxis. It can load up to two persons plus big luggage with a very cheap fare.

To match the traditional bajay, Grab also fixed a cheaper fare for GrabBajay. It is only IDR 3,000 per kilometer with a minimum of IDR 9,000 per transaction. And the feature is the first in the country.

Customers can order GrabBajay straight from Grab app homepage. Also, customers can use GrabNow feature to order the service. It is by approaching available bajay and ordering it using the feature.

GrabBajay is now available only in Center of Jakarta. And at its launching, it has about 60 bajays waiting for customer orders in five point shelters. The point shelters are Jakarta City Station, ITC Mangga Dua, Mangga Besar Station, Sawah Besar Station and Pasar Baru.

GrabCar Premium is next

In addition, Grab has also prepared a plan for the upper class customer. It prepared GrabCar Premium, offering a luxurious car hailing.

The feature is set to be available in the beginning of June 2019. A part of GrabBusiness, this feature focuses on companies or corporations customers. And for the next few months, Grabcar Premium will have a trial time with openly willing companies.

Moreover, Grab stated that it will join partnerships to help supplying premium and luxurious cars such as Fortuner. It would not have individual partners alike the regular GrabCar.

GrabCar Premium is a part of Grab for Business that includes GrabGifts, Concierge, GrabExpress and Catering. Furthermore, this part of Grab has had thousands of companies across the coutries as customers.
