Previously, Xbox has announced its new monthly subscription plan offer: the Xbox Game Pass. Today, Microsoft teased Xbox fans by revealing 30 upcoming games that will be available on its monthly subscription service. What are those? check below!
Microsoft has been trying to attract casual gamers through the development of its cloud gaming service and its own streaming devices. One of Microsoft’s attempts is by making the Xbox Game Pass subscription program. The subscription costs $9.99 a month. Subscribers will have access to hundreds of games available on Xbox consoles, Android devices and PCs.
Xbox Game Pass: what’s coming up soon
In addition to the access to the games, Xbox promised to launch new games every month through the end of the year on its Game Pass. The new games also include PC strategy series such as “Age of Empires IV” and racing game “Forza Horizon 5, Reuters quotes.
Additionally, Microsoft scheduled one of its big-ticket games, “Halo Infinite,” for a holiday launch. The game will be finally available after a delay caused by the coronavirus lockdowns halted developers’ work.
Microsoft also mentioned several other titles scheduled to launch soon at the E3 conference. Among them are games from video game publisher, Bethesda, which previously made Fallout and Doom. Bethesda’s appearance does not come as a surprise as Microsoft bought its parent company, ZeniMax Media, for $7.5 billion last year.
Two big-budget games, exclusive to Xbox and PC, are also coming from Microsoft soon. The two games are a role-playing game (RPG) entitled “Starfield” and a vampire-themed shooting game “Redfall”. The launch date for “Starfield” is on Nov 11, 2022. Currently, there is no exact date for the “Redfall” release, but Microsoft said that the game will be available somewhere around next summer.
Game consoles future prospect
Microsoft and Sony have been competing with its gaming devices since November last year. The competition between both companies was fueled by heightened demand for consoles due to the pandemic locking up people at home.
Game analytics firm Newzoo’s forecast for the global games market future isn’t small. Quoted from Reuters, Newzoo predicts at least $175.8 billion in revenue for the global games market with 2.9 billion players. The prediction for 2023 goes even higher and could exceed $200 billion.
