Amazon and Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos has given millions of dollars into anti-aging research startups in Silicon Valley. However, the move has even drawn scorn from Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk.
The startup, called Altos Labs, is looking for a way to reverse aging in human cells. The research is said to have shown progress, but is still at a very early stage.
“And if not successful, could lead to death !,” cuit Elon Musk in its distinctive spicy tweet to Jeff Bezos, as reported by Futurism,Thursday (09/09/2021).
The dispute between the two richest people in the world has heated up in recent months. However, this is the first time Elon Musk has mocked Jeff Bezos for actions unrelated to space exploration.
As you know, space company Blue Origin recently sued NASA for awarding a $2.9 billion contract to the Moon lander SpaceX.
Elon Musk’s Satire to Jeff Bezos
The rivalry between the two richest people in the world, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, does not seem to be going away or maybe even getting hotter.
On Friday last week, Elon Musk quipped Jeff Bezos by citing his resignation from Amazon because he was busy filing a lawsuit against Musk’s SpaceX.
Citing the New York Post, Wednesday (1/9/2021), Amazon also filed a complaint against SpaceX with the Federal Communications Commission.
Amazon has urged the US regulator to reject the company from launching more satellites as part of its satellite internet business.
What Bezos did also received satire from Musk through his tweets on his Twitter account.
Elon Musk to Jeff Bezos: He Retired to sue SpaceX
Musk expressed his sarcasm when replying to a tweet by The Washington Post journalist Christian Davenport, who posted a news link about Amazon’s complaint against SpaceX.
“It turns out that Bezos retired to pursue a full-time job to file a lawsuit against SpaceX,” said Musk, who either intentionally or unintentionally changed the name “Bezos” to “Besos.”
Quoted from The Verge, the complaint from Amazon appears to be just a letter of protest, not a formal lawsuit.
Technically, Amazon doesn’t mean that it doesn’t want SpaceX to launch more Starlink satellites at all. But according to them, the company should be more clear in its implementation plan.
Bezos resigned from his position as CEO of Amazon in July 2021. He then handed over control of one of the world’s largest e-commerce to Andy Jassy.
Bezos is known to have traveled into space on a Blue Origin rocket shortly after.
There has been no official comment from either SpaceX or Blue Origin regarding this.
