Just like it’s neighboring country Indonesia, co-working space business is also growing in Thailand. And like CoHive, the country also has a leading player in the industry. HUBBA has been around for a while and it surely is leading Thailand’s co-working space industry.
The Bangkok-based company just announced that it is appointing new CEO. Aarit Charoenphan, former CEO of the company, stated that his brother, Charle Charoenphan will be the successor. The later will take his position as the CEO of HUBBA Thailand.
Charle Charoenphan is not a new face in the company. He previously works as the acting COO of it. Three years ago, Charle wotked as Head of Accelerator in SBC Digital. And he trusted the CEO place to Amarit instead.
A brief on Amarit and HUBBA Thailand
Founded in 2012, the company has gone through several highs and lows. The company managed to survive, even being the lead player, without big funding. It only raised a seed funding back in 2015. 500 Startups, Golden Gate Ventures and Wavemaker Partners joined the investment.
Back in 2012, the concept of co-working space was alien to Thailand. It was missing a workspace that could support any entrepreneur, freelancers and startup that was affordable.
Amarit stated that his country also needs a strong sense of community and friendship. As well as many learning and sharing opportunities and business services that help business to succeed.
For the past seven years, HUBBA Thailand has achieved many successes under Amarit’s lead. First, the company succeed in doubling it’s annual top line without investment. Secondly, it successfully scaled Techsauche Media’s Techsauce Global Summit event. Finally, he secured a partnership with Google for startups.
Meanwhile, his brother, Charle, stated that he will “bring more technology into the heart of what we do to unlock Thailand’s great entrepreneurial potential.”
