Based on two resources related to the case, former U.S. president, Donal Trump faces 30+ counts of business fraud. The indictment was from a Manhattan grand jury. This would be the first time in history that a former president might receive criminal charges of 30+ business fraud. Medias said that Mr. Trump should appear in court for his arraignment. However, so far, the charges are still kept from the public. In the time being, the Manhattan district attorney’s office continue to investigate Mr. Trump’s alleged roles. These include a hush money payment scheme as well as cover-up involving adult film star Stormy Daniels.
This historic decision by a Manhattan grand jury for the former president came with other names, Ron DeSantis and Mike Pompeo. Ron DeSantis is Florida Government and Mike Pompeo is a former Secretary of State. George Soros, the liberal billionaire also involved. Mr. Trump stated that George Soros funded Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney. George Soros is a longtime supporter of Democratic party and campaign. Meanwhile, Bragg is a graduate of Harvard Law School. He is a former federal prosecutor and a former chief deputy attorney general for New York state. In 2021, Bragg won a competitive Democratic primary for Manhattan district attorney. His opponent was spending millions.
Bragg gained support from the political action committee, Color of Change. This is a nonprofit advocacy group. The co-founder is Van Jones, later they promote criminal justice reform among other racial justice causes. Apparently, the Color of Change PAC has gained funds from Soros. Here, Soros has spent years as a vocal advocate of criminal justice reform as well as progressive district attorney candidates.
