How much will CEOs of “big tech”, represented by Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft (MS), earn a year.
As stocks account for most of the total amount CEOs receive from the company, each company varies widely, but it is known that it easily exceeds tens of billions of won to as much as 100 billion won.
According to a report released by Apple earlier this year, CEO Tim Cook received a total of $99.4 million, including $40 million in stock compensation last year.
It is the highest amount among major big tech CEOs. However, Tim Cook is expected to receive $49 million by cutting his annual salary by 40% this year.
According to an annual report submitted by Amazon to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 13th (local time), CEO Andy Jash’s total income in 2022 was USD 1.3 million.
This is a 99% decrease from $212.7 million in 2021 when he was promoted to CEO. It received $35.8 million in 2020.
Imports fell sharply last year because stock compensation, which amounted to $212 million in 2021, did not have a penny in 2022.
However, $31.9 million was given last year because the shares received in 2021 will be paid in installments over the next 10 years. Reflecting this, CEO Ash received 43.3 billion won in actual income last year.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella received a total of $54.9 million last year. As stock compensation increased, it was higher than $49.8 million in 2021.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google’s parent company Alphabet, reportedly earned $6.3 million in 2021. This did not include stock compensation.
Pichai had no stock in 2020 and 2021, but stock compensation amounted to as much as $276 million in 2019.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook’s parent company Meta, received a total of $2.7 million in 2021. Zuckerberg has reportedly not been paid since 2013.
