How nice would it be to have a personal assistant? Really, you can just pass the annoying errands to your assistant. But it is not realistic to have one, it’s just not affordable at best. Well, lucky for Malaysians, they have GoGet as their personal assistant.
Not like fully working assistant with minimum five digit salary. It’s just there whenever you need it. The company offers a platform where customers can get someone to do their errand instead. And where scavengers can scrape up money from any kinds of errands other people need and ready to pay for.
Francesca Chia, co-founder of GoGet just finished working overtime. Tired, she and her co-workers just wanted someone to get their food in their stead. This is before food delivery service, Grab and Go-jek became at thing in the country.
So she, with her team, made one company that makes it possible. But soon Chia found out that it can be beyond food delivery. There are many people who are not able to do some important things because other important things.
GoGet, errands, and GoGetters
Since then, the platform became some kind of errand center. People makes demand of many various errands. From delivering food, parcels, cleaning, to rank the spiciness levels of various chilies are available for freelancers. They can earn hundreds of dollars from the platform.
The company did not just use any GoGetters, or the freelancers on the platform. It undergoes several test, document clarifications, examination over past crime, and training sessions for the candidates. It is aware of how crucial it is to have trusted workers in the service industry.
GoGet then provides financial services for its GoGetters. They can use the save up feature to cut some of the money they earned automatically to their savings. When they need some cash, they can cash it up real quick either.
At Friday (7/20), GoGet Wins UNCDF’s Finlab B40 Challenge. The competition is to find companies which can drive the lower and middle-income groups to use more financial services. Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) also support the company for it’s help in elevating the middle group economy in Malaysia.
