Foodpanda launched its Singapore product development in 2012. It has now established Singapore as its Southeast Asia (SEA) headquarters. After choosing Singapore as its SEA headquarters, Foodpanda also plans to form Singapore tech hub.
In order to realize its plan, Foodpanda will hire upwards of 500 product and engineering experts. Besides, it also plans to onboard 100 engineers over the next three months.

Since its launch in, Foodpanda Singapore’s product development has been primarily managed by Berlin-based Delivery Hero. It has picked Singapore to be its regional headquarters to ensure proximity to the markets it serves.
Delivery Hero’s global performance report for Q2 2019 shows that Asia has experienced the greatest growth in orders. It jumps by 114.8% year on year. The region placed well above the EMEA region (59.7%) and the Americas (43.8%).
Foodpanda Singapore also announced that it will be offering third-party liability insurance for its all active riders starting September through a partnership with insurance cooperative NTUC Income. The company said it currently has more than 6,000 riders.

Foodpanda is a German mobile food delivery marketplace. It is operating in 40 countries and territories. That includes most of Southeast Asia Countries, like Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, and Malaysia. It offers users to select from local restaurants and place orders via its mobile applications as well as its websites. The company partners with over 27,095 restaurants in 193 cities and works with over 15,733 delivery riders.

The company raised a total of $318 million in venture capital.
Besides, Foodpanda has also opened a dine-in restaurant in Singapore. Foodpanda’s innovation does not stop there. It has also allowed the customer to pick and match dishes from different restaurants. There are nine restaurants that customers can choose. Moreover, the customer can mix the dishes from those restaurants with a single delivery fee.
