Binks is an India custom-made clothing startup. Its CEO, Aamna Khan, reason to make it is her frustration to find well-fitting women’s workwear in Indian cities. Therefore, Binks plans to solve that problem.

Khan mentions that shopping online in India is difficult. The main reason for that is a standardized Indian sizing chart hasn’t been developed yet. As a consequence, clothing companies use a mix of U.S. and European size charts. Thus, many customers often get inaccurate sizing.

Even in a place with a lot of tailors getting clothing fitted and sewn is a time-consuming process. If someone wants to tailor something, he needs to buy fabric, gives his measurement and does some fitting.
Buying ready made clothes is also not an easy option for customers. Many times, they still need to alter the ready made clothes to a tailor. Meanwhile, if they buy it online, they will need to return or exchange it.
Therefore, companies that figure out a better way to sell clothing stand to profit a lot. The women’s apparel market in India is worth $30 billion. Moreover, Cited from a report, it is expected to grow quickly by 2025.
Binks uses computer vision and machine learning. Its technology will provide customers with clothing sewn to their measurements, shipped in just three days.
To order the custom clothes, customers need to pick a style on Bink’s site. Then, they need to fill out a form that includes questions about their height and bra size. Besides, they need to also tell what brands of tops and pants fit them best and what sizes from those brands they usually wear.

On top of all, the customer has to also upload a full-length photo of themselves taken from the front and side. After that, a Binks’ consultant will call to discuss the customization.
The average price of a garment is about US $30.
The company started taking online orders in June. Its sales have doubled month over month. Binks’ 30% of customers placing a second order within the first month.
