According to the company’s CEO, Min-Liang Tan announced that Razer plans to invest $7.2 million to Singapore’s gaming scene. They plan to give the investment within the next 12 months.
With the investment, the company wants to support the country’s e-sport team. Besides, it also wants to give support to other gaming companies based in the city-state or founded by Singaporeans.
The CEO specifically mentions that the company will support the e-sport team for the SEA games. Besides, the company currently also becomes the official partner of the competition.

Razer
Razer is a global gaming hardware manufacturing company established in 2005. It is established by a Singaporean entrepreneur. The company offers various gaming products. Their products range from a gaming laptop, tablets, to PC peripherals. The company notched up record group revenues of just over US$712 million, with year-on-year revenue growth hitting a three-year high of 37.6 percent.
It currently works with 18 professional e-sports teams collectively known as Team Razer. Its players are from over 25 countries.
Moreover, the company now owns 18 offices worldwide. Its Singaporean office alone houses about 500 staff members.
Now, the company looks to double its headcount over the next few years. Therefore, it also plans to move into its Southeast Asia headquarters in the city-state in 2020.
Currently, e-sports is a key focal point in the growth strategy of Raze. It posts narrowing losses in its first full-year report since it went public in 2017. Part of its growth plans is a partnership with Chinese tech giant Tencent on mobile gaming.

Asian Games 2019
As part of the company involvement in the 30th SEA Games 2019, it held Razer Sea Games E-sport Bootcamp in Singapore. The bootcamp gathers national teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
Besides, the company also invites US-based e-sport organization, Evil Geniuses.
