Apple new TV Streaming Service, Apple TV+

Today, September 11th, Apple formally announced its plan about launching Apple new TV streaming service. It is named Apple TV+. It will be available on November 1st, 2019.

The service will only cost $4.99 per month for the whole family. Besides, the service will be available across Apple’s platforms in more than 100 countries. It will be available through the Apple TV app.

Additionally, it will also be available through tv.apple.com web, newer Samsung smart TVs, and on Amazon Fire TV, LG, Roku, Sony and VIZIO platforms in the future.

Surprisingly, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook also mentions that every purchase of Apple devices (an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or Apple TV) will get a year free of Apple TV+. However, the free subscription only given to the purchases starting on September 10.

Apple Streaming Service

The news of Apple entry into the TV streaming markets has been public for some time. Previously, it is reported that the streaming service will be available at a higher price, $99 per month.

Since it was officially introduced on this March, Apple TV has been discussed by many stars. Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, Reese Witherspoon, Jason Momoa, Alfre Woodard, Sara Bareilles have talked about their involvement in the new streaming platform.

However, the numerous high profile shows do not make it a Netflix alternative. It does not provide licensed TV shows and movies. Thus, if you want more shows you have to pay a subscription to other premium services.

This new streaming service is iPhone moves as its iPhone sales have been slowing down these days. The slow sales do not have anything to do with the quality of the device. The improvements in new versions are also not enough to prompt as frequent upgrades.

Besides this Apple TV+, it has also focused on growing services revenues with launches like Apple News+ and Apple Arcade.
