Apple launches its new Apple Watch Series 5, supported with an always-on display. With its watch series, Apple aims to put groundbreaking health, fitness, and communication capabilities on people wrist.
On the launching of the watch series, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, showed a video of Apple Watch users are healthier.
Apple Watch Series 5 Feature
It has an always-on display since it is able to automatically adjust its brightness. Every time the users lower their wrist, the brightness goes down, since it features an LTPO display with an adaptive refresh rate.
It can go down to 1Hz, or one screen refresh per second. Consequently, the watch can reach 18 hours of battery life with a display that stays on.
Besides, it also features a built-in compass. It is a new app that can tell users about their latitude, longitude, and direction. Thus, it could be particularly useful when you’re hiking.

Other than that, Apple has also improved the watch’s emergency calling feature. Now, it can make an emergency call across 150 countries. The users only have to press and hold down the side button, it automatically calls local emergency services.
The watch is available in many models. The aluminum models come in silver, gold and space gray. Those cases are now made from recycled aluminum. Stainless steel models come in gold, space black, and plain stainless steel.
Besides, it also has two new models, the titanium and ceramics. Other than that, Apple is also refreshing special editions of the Apple Watch with Nike and Hermès as well.

The price of Apple Watch Series 5 starts at $399 and $499 if you want to get a cellular modem. The pre-orders start today and they will be available on September 20. The Apple Watch Series 3 first introduced in 2017 now starts at $199.
For the development of its watch series, Apple also collaborates with health research facilities.
