Previously, PR Newswire posted on the first day of December that Softbank is issuing a new crypto-wallet card. The “SBC Wallet Card” reportedly have various functions such as digital currency wallet, debit card and credit card.
However, as Softbank spokesman said in an interview with Coindesk Japan on 4th that Softbank’s official position doesn’t have the data . And that there is no release of SBC Wallet Card, a debit card with the function of cryptocurrency wallets.
The data posted on PR Newswire on the 1st explained that SBBC Wallet Card supports functions such as legal money storage, credit card, and electronic payment service through its own application.

The data quoted an anonymous comment by an official leading the Softbank SBC project. However, a Softbank spokesman told CoindeskJapan that the remarks were groundless. Currently, Newswire has deleted the original article stating Softbank’s card issuance.
But the copy of it has been spreading out through the internet here.
The company’s spokesperson wrote in an email to The Block, saying:
“Regarding the PR Newswire article, while we are still confirming how, why, and from whom this was sent out, it is NOT sent from SoftBank Corp. Therefore, it is NOT an official announcement by SoftBank Corp. We are not aware of anything written on this article,”
Indeed, Softbank has previously collaborated with blockchain companies throughout the world. The newest one is the $1 billion investment in German payment company, Wirecard.
