Recently, NFT’s crypto assets have been on the rise. Many parties are taking advantage of this crypto asset, especially content creators and artists.
One of the successful harvesters from NFT is Blake Jamieson, an artist in Brooklyn, United States (US). He made $ 46,000 in just 6 weeks from the NFT.
This 36 year old man from February to mid-March 2021, managed to sell NTF from his artworks on the SuperRare and OpenSea platforms.
“I firmly believe that I will become a millionaire in at least eight weeks, just because I see the potential of NFT goods,” said Jamieson as quoted by CNBC, Monday (12/4/2021).
What is NFT?
NFT or Non-Fungible Token is a crypto technology such as a digital certificate that states ownership of a photo, video, or other virtual.
NFT assets have a unique code number and metadata that cannot be replicated, and are different from one another. This unique code can track the token issuer, owner beginning, and the final owner for collectible works or items.
Each NFT will act as a collection item that cannot be duplicated, making it rare. Then someone who has an NFT will have something valuable in the digital world, just like owning a assets or valuables in the real world.
Jamieson himself creates NFTs of his art, ranging from portraits of athletes to abstract paintings. high resolution from his past works and print the jpeg for posting on the NFT platform for sale.
For one thing, Jamieson takes pictures of parts of his 2020 “trippy, funky” acrylic painting, and lists each piece of it as a separate NFT on SuperRare as a series.
Sales Made on SuperRare
In just a month and a half, Jamieson managed to generate approximately $ 40,000 in SuperRare from 17 NFT sales.
In total to date Jamieson has sold 19 NFTs for $ 44,399, according to the SuperRare platform. Its highest NFT sales were $ 4,772 and its average NFT selling price was $ 2,336.
While on the OpenSea platform, Jamieson managed to sell an NFT of his painting of Lebron James for around $ 6,500.
His revenue from NFT sales is not as big as the physical sales of his art. He used to sell artwork for around $ 10,000- $ 15,000 with a total annual income of around $ 100,000- $ 150,000 per year.
In 2020, even Jamieson made 800,000 US dollars from his artwork from a collaborative project with the well-known company The Topps Company.
However, he assesses that having additional income through NFT crypto assets still has a big impact on today’s business. Jamieson even continues to promote his NFT on social media.
This year, he is back on a collaborative project with Topps worth US $ 500,000. Along with that, Jamieson ensures that he will continue to sell NTF as a sideline.
The NFT market itself has recently eased in terms of sales and prices, but Jamieson believes the crypto asset market will continue to grow, even though the price may stabilize.
“So I think this is a great opportunity for artists, and it would be ridiculous for artists to ignore the NFT at this time,” concluded Jamieson.
