Mastercard has just announced the ten companies for this batch’s Start Path program. Out of the global fintech startups on the list, Moneythor is the only Southeast Asian company. Impressively, it beaten out the other 15,000 competitors from around the world.
Mastercard Start Path program is part of Mastercard Labs. It aims to help later stage fintech firms to scale new opportunities and markets. Started in 2014, Start Path has joined partnerships with more than 200 startups. Together, they have raised around $1.4 billion collective funding.
By joining Start Path, startups can elevate their business to another level. Because Mastercard also connects the chosen startups with leading international institutions. Also, it gives the firms access to Mastercard experts of financial services and payment industries.
Moneythor: using transaction data to excel digital banking
Meanwhile, Moneythor is a Singapore-based firm. It operates in Australia, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. The company provides data-driven digital banking software. Big financial institutions such as ANZ, CIMB, DBS and others are the company’s clients.
Banking technology veterans, Olivier Berthier and Thibault Weintraub co-founded Moneythor in 2013. Both have been working together for more than 15 years in the financial industry.
The company’s products provides personalized recommendations and insights to customers based on transaction data. For example personal or business financial management features, budgets, goals, etc. In short, it enhances digital banking experience for customers.
