Biden, who is also a former US vice president, will officially enter the White House on January 20, 2021. Biden will become US President at the age of 78. He is likely to face the tough task of governing in heavily polarized Washington.
Biden’s victory was boosted by strong support from a wide range of groups including women, African Americans, white voters with college degrees, and city dwellers. He is more than four million votes ahead of Trump in the national popular vote tally.
Preparing to give birth to a new AS
Biden, who has spent half a century in public life as a US senator and later vice president in the Barack Obama administration, will inherit a country plagued by the coronavirus pandemic and its associated economic slowdown and disturbing protests against racism and police brutality.
Biden’s top priority is developing a plan to contain and recover from the pandemic. Additionally, he pledged to increase access to testing and, unlike Trump, to heed advice from top public health officials and scientists.
