US President Donald Trump has publicly concedes for the first time that he will not serve a second term in the White House.
In a video address to the White House, Trump said that a transition of government is currently underway.
“The new government will be inaugurated on January 20. My focus now is to ensure a smooth, orderly and smooth transfer of power,” Trump said in the video.
Quoting by CNN, even though he has acknowledged that a new government will soon be sworn in. Trump still does not congratulate his successor, Joe Biden.
Trump’s admission comes two months after the general election took place in November and when calls to impeach him have resumed.
The House of Representatives, Senate, and the US Attorney General urged Vice President Mike Pence to immediately issue the 25th Amendment to remove and replace Trump, who is seen as inciting his supporters to riot at the Capitol Hill Building on Wednesday (6/1).
When the Congress is in the middle of counting the electoral vote on the elections on Wednesday afternoon.
Some of Trump’s supporters come from militia groups and white supremacist and right-wing civic groups such as the Proud Boys.
The demonstrations that turned into chaos left five people dead. Including a woman who was shot during the rioting, and damage to several parts of the Capitol Building.
