Users who do not agree to the update to the new Whatsapp privacy policy rules will no longer be able to use the service starting February 8, 2021.
Users who cannot access can then choose to delete the account. But even if the account is deleted, Whatsapp will still store some user data.
Stored data is information related to groups that users create, or other information that users have, such as copies of messages that users have sent to them.
Whatsapp owners who then choose to delete their account to the maximum need to learn more information by checking ‘How to delete your account’.
Submission of this policy change will appear in the form of a pop-up notification that will appear in the user’s application.
This rule is related to the update of the terms of service and privacy policy for Whatsapp users. The new regulation lists a number of points of change, one of which is sharing Whatsapp user data with Facebook.
The updates include how WhatsApp processes user data, how businesses can access services on Facebook to store and manage WhatsApp chats, and how WhatsApp will soon partner with Facebook to offer deeper integration across all of the company’s products.
WhatsApp Forces Users to Accept New Term of Service
If you want to continue using the service, users are forced to accept notifications that appear in the Whatsapp application. Because, if that option is not selected, users cannot access messages on the Whatsapp application.
After agreeing, the new data sharing rules with Facebook will take effect on February 8, 2021.
Users who agree to these terms will share their phone numbers, transaction data, service-related information, interaction information, mobile device information, IP addresses and other information with Facebook.
In the future, Whatsapp will further inform some data that will be shared with Facebook. In some data, users will also be asked for consent to submit the data.
WhatsApp’s policy of sharing data with Facebook is not unusual. WhatsApp became part of Facebook after being purchased in 2014 for US $ 16 billion or Rp190 trillion today.
