WhatsApp’s new privacy policy worries many people. However, how much data is actually collected by other messaging apps like Signal, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, iMessage.
It turns out, as indicated by the app’s privacy label shown on Apple’s App Store. The two applications owned by Facebook, namely Messenger and WhatsApp, collect usage data and location details, unlike other applications.
On the other hand, Signal appears to be the most private messaging app and doesn’t collect any user data, according to the privacy details seen on the App Store.
Launching Gadgets 360, details available on the App Store show that Facebook Messenger is the greedy most when it comes to user data collection, followed by WhatsApp.
The list of data collected by the two applications includes, among others, user’s purchase history, financial information, location details, contact details, telephone numbers, email addresses and usage data.
