The platforms in the Facebook family experienced a simultaneous blackout this morning. Besides Facebook, difficulty accessing or downing occurs including on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
Facebook has not yet responded to a request for comment regarding the outage on its social networking platform.
The Down Detector page shows the report occurred at 6:00 PM ET Thursday. About hundreds of thousands of users from all platforms were affected by the outage.
Facebook Down
On the Facebook Web, there are 112 thousand for the Facebook website. Meanwhile, there are 101 thousand Instagram users and 516 WhatsApp users.
On that page, the report states that more than some users or about 56% experienced a total blackout during the blackout. Meanwhile, there are those who experience problems when logging in, 26%, and accessing the Newsfeed 16%.
Instagram Down
Whereas on Instagram, 72% reported having problems with the Newsfeed, 17% for the website, and 9% on logging in. For Messenger, users reported difficulties connecting to the server (45%), receiving messages (37%) and logging in (16%).
WhatsApp Down
On WhatsApp, the most users report connection problems (73%). There are also those who have problems sending and receiving messages (18%) and 7% when logging in.
Even though reporting on all platforms started to decline a few hours ago, until now there are still those who report what has been entered on the DownDetector page.
A number of users also reported the outage of the applications on Twitter. Some of them stated that they headed to Twitter just to confirm the truth of the incident.
One user even issued a funny meme marking the need for Twitter regarding blackout information in other applications. There were also those who stated that there were still platforms that didn’t disappoint when Instagram was down, namely Twitter and Sporify.
