Bill, as the founder of Microsoft, makes billions and Melinda spends time running the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which provides support for things from public radio to medical advancement.
For the most part, they seem like a committed couple whose problem is nothing more than a matter of joint philanthropy and raising their three children. It was shocking to know their intention to divorce. Bill and Melinda posted a joint statement to their Twitter accounts regarding this breakup.
2020: A Turning Point for Bill and Melinda Gates
When Bill Gates left Microsoft in 2020, it was a turning point in his life. He has a stake of US $ 26 billion. Then, this couple of three children chose to focus on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that they lead.
However, this move did not bring them any closer. Because they announced their intention to divorce in May, citing CNBC and Nicki Swift.
“After a lot of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” both said on their respective Twitter accounts.
“Over the past 27 years, we have raised three wonderful children and built a foundation that works around the world to enable everyone to lead healthy and productive lives.”
The statement further answered questions about the foundation’s fate but left details of the couple’s billion dollar fortune up for debate. As well as hinting at the reason for their separation.
“We continue to share faith in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives. We ask for space and privacy for our families as we begin to navigate this new life.”
