Cybercriminals are starting to look to rob crypto exchanges. This was conveyed by the CEO of Cloudflare, Matthew Prince who said that the biggest place being chased by criminals was crypto exchanges.
“The old adage is why do bank robbers rob banks? Because that’s where the money is,” Prince said, quoted by CNBC International, Tuesday (14/9/2021).
“One of the biggest places that cybercriminals are chasing right now are various crypto exchanges and other parts of crypto.”
This answer comes from a question by Jim Carner of CNBC International. He asked if executives felt safe enough to invest in crypto exchanges that were customers of Cloudflare.
Some of Cloudflare’s clients are indeed cryptocurrency exchanges. “We’re seeing more innovation from attackers in that space, but we’re still ahead,” he added.
Prince claims his company keeps cryptocurrency customers safe and secure. Besides also helping them to get the additional protection they have.
“I would feel safe using one of the crypto exchanges that use Cloudflare today,” he said.
