Elon Musk Has Declared A Complete Transformation Of Twitter. The plan is to abandon the blue bird that has long symbolized Twitter and be reborn as an “X.” This is interpreted as a sketch to make Twitter a “super app.”
According to Bloomberg and other foreign media on the 24th (local time), Musk unveiled his new logo on Twitter through his Twitter account. It is an X letter drawn in white on a black background. However, the blue bird logo still remains on Twitter websites and apps.
It only took Musk 24 hours to find the new logo, Bloomberg noted. Musk publicly recruited the X logo from his 149 million followers a day earlier on Twitter, saying, “We should slowly say goodbye to not only the Twitter brand but also all the birds,” adding, “If the great ‘X’ logo is uploaded today, we will reveal it to the world tomorrow.”
Musk then chose one and changed his profile picture to a new logo. He said the new logo will be adopted as a temporary design and “will be changed or refined later.” He also wrote down the address “X-Com” on his profile, but if you press it, it will be redirected to Twitter.
The official Twitter account also changed its profile picture to this logo and its name to X.
Linda Yakarino, CEO of Twitter, gave support to Musk’s chosen X logo and said, “Twitter has made a big impression by changing the way we communicate. Now X will go further and change the world’s squares,” he said. It also released a photo of the X logo as a light at the Twitter headquarters building in San Francisco.
The name “Twitter” comes from the English word “tweet,” which means “birds sing.” Therefore, the new image has long been a symbol of Twitter.
However, after acquiring Twitter last year, Musk drew a big picture of transforming Twitter into a super app that combines social networking services (SNS), e-commerce, and finance. In April, the company changed its corporate name to X when it absorbed Twitter into the platform company X that it founded, and this logo change is also interpreted as part of it.
Analysts say that Twitter has started to change quickly because Meta recently released an SNS thread that resembles Twitter. Thread has emerged as a threat to Twitter, surpassing 100 million subscribers in four days.
